Following a lack lustre start to 2010, with a sluggish gold and silver bullion prices weighing on the market in January, BullionSupermarket has seen buyers flocking back in pursuit of bargain Gold and Silver bullion. Interest in Gold is significantly up on January registering a 40% uptick for the month, largely at the expense of diminished interest in Silver, which had previously outstripped Gold interest at the start of the year.

Gold and Silver bargain hunters came in force to BullionSupermarket.com on Thursday and Friday as buyers took Thursdays price dive as an opportunity to bottom fish for physical metal.

Record interest on the site Friday morning (UK time) was largely split between Gold and Silver leaving Platinum interest limping into third place. Sharp rises in fear indicators supported interest in Physical Precious metal.

Gold was boosted $25 and Silver just shy of 50 cents on Monday as the DOW rose over 1% as President Obama offered up a 3.8-trillion-dollar government budget for 2011.

This event in itself should have come as no suprise to the market, but coupled with a Strong US manufactuing reading stoking inflationary fears, Gold Bulls had one of their best days since August 2009.

Interest in BullionSupermarket listed Precious Metal items was also strong with Gold Traffic outstripping Silver by 3:1

British Gold holders see value uplift as disappointing GDP hits pound

Disappointing GDP figures showing the UK only barely emerging from recession boosted the Sterling Gold Price on Tuesday as dollar Gold prices stayed flat on a day that saw the Pound was trading down as much as 0.6% against the Dollar during the day.

BullionSupermarket.com showed heavier than average demand as UK based buyers showed interest in US Gold Bullion lots over their domestic equivelents hoping to secure lower premiums. Gold imports to the UK attract no import Duty or VAT providing it meets HMRC specifications for investment gold.

Lower Gold Prices tempt back Coin and Bar bargain hunters.

Lower prices in Bullion markets on Friday encouraged a surge of interest from bargain hunters at BullionSupermarket.com with Gold Bars and Gold Krugerrand recording the heaviest traffic by a ratio of up to 2:1 this weekend.

January 2010 sees Silver interest outstrip Gold at BullionSupermarket.com

January 2010 is seeing significantly lower levels of interest in Gold Bullion at http://bullionsupermarket.com with precious metals investors instead opting for cheaper Silver.

Whilst the Silver has not kept up with Gold during the recent precious metals rally, it is percieved by some to have greater upside than Gold. This combined with the squeeze on disposable incomes after the christmas holiday period makes cheaper silver an altogether more attractive option.

Silver Bar premiums are currently trading at the lower end of the range at around 15% on a 1 troy ounce bar, with 10 troy ounce lots changing hands for about 8% over the London Silver price.
